Wellness Team Mission Statement The CTFN Wellness Team is mandated to continue to protect our citizens of the CTFN, to guide our development of our peoples health and wellness vision by promoting a healthy environment (Land); whole integrated cultural strategies, services, practices and ceremonies; and through working with all other departments and teams for the purpose of building capacity of the CTFN; strengthening a common vision of economics all towards promoting independence and self-empowerment, self sufficiency. First, we need to heal ourselves from the social trauma, which continues to be passed down through the generations. Our efforts to move forward are continually being undermined by this impairment. Second, this will lead us to reconciliation within our community; it will allow us to move from division to unity. Finally, as we develop wellness we will be able to move from a crisis management mode to vision driven management. The role of the Wellness Team is to assist, advise, develop, decide, guide and implement policies, laws, regulations, permits, agreements and strategic planning of Wellness matters. Our ancestors did their part protecting the future generations, now it is our turn to protect our generations to come. The Wellness Team has been mandated by the Executive Council of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation to be the guiding body in all Wellness management matters within our traditional territory. The Wellness Team is required to make these decisions in accordance with the relevant policies in an equal and fair manner.
