Personnel Policy Updates
Two sections of the Personnel Policy were updated in March 2026. These changes update how workplace concerns are handled and help ensure C/TFN policies meet current workplace safety standards.
The updates affect the following policies:
- 1-530 Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Policy
- 1-535 Workplace Conflict Resolution Policy

Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Policy (1-530)
This policy has been significantly updated to align with modern workplace safety standards and federal labour requirements.
Key changes include:
Updated policy name and scope
- The policy title has changed from “Workplace Anti-Violence & Harassment Prevention Policy” to “Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Policy.”
- The updated policy reflects current standards under the Canada Labour Code and Federal Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Clearer definitions
- The policy now includes clearer explanations of what counts as violence, harassment, bullying, and threats in the workplace.
- Examples are provided to help staff better understand unacceptable behaviour.
Stronger prevention approach
- The new version places greater focus on preventing problems before they occur, including identifying risks and promoting respectful workplaces.
Improved reporting process
- The steps for reporting workplace violence or harassment are now clearer.
- Staff are provided with more guidance on who to report concerns to and how complaints are handled.
