This posting is to fill one (1) permanent full-time position. This posting will remain open for two weeks and is scheduled to close February 4, 2026. Your Role

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Technician is responsible for delivering technical support and assistance across all GC/TFN computer systems. This role includes performing routine system maintenance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and monitoring overall system performance to ensure reliable and secure operations throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to staff in person, by phone, or remotely.
  • Log and track incident resolutions.
  • Install and troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Set up and maintain IT related office equipment.
  • Monitor antivirus and data backup systems.
  • Maintain inventory and manage equipment lending.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Assist external technicians when needed.
  • Provide emergency on-call support.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies. 
  • Manage staff access to systems (email, VPN, shared drives).
  • Monitor and maintain security cameras.
  • Support and troubleshoot phone systems.
  • Maintain voicemail systems.
  • Maintain voicemail systems.
  • Monitor satellite phones, cell phones, and spot devises.
  • Allocate and track cell phone per policy.
  • Other related duties as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or Network Administration is preferred.
  • Experience providing technical support in a Windows-based environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of operating systems and software installation.
  • Good understanding of basic networking concepts (LAN, VPN, Wi-Fi)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cybersecurity practices and antivirus tools
  • Prior experience troubleshooting technical issues
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • High attention to and accuracy in data entry and file management
