Haandei-I-Jin Policy Manual

Carcross/Tagish First Nation has published the Haandei-I-Jin Policy Manual, which explains how the Haandei-I-Jin program supports citizens who need help getting back on their feet.

Haandei-I-Jin is a program designed to support citizens during times when they may need financial help, life supports, or time to rebuild stability in their lives.

The policy manual explains:

  • How the Haandei-I-Jin program works
  • How staff assess needs and plan supports with citizens
  • The role of the Circle of Care, which brings together supports around a person or family
  • Different pathways of support for people with different needs
  • How people can work toward stability, healing, education, or employment

The manual describes three general pathways of support for citizens:

  • People who need long-term support because of disability or chronic health issues
  • People who need short-term support during life circumstances such as caregiving or recovery
  • People who need time to build skills, address trauma, improve education, or find work

Citizens who want to learn more about the program are encouraged to read the policy manual.
