Carcross/Tagish First Nation will have a new Haa Shaa du Hen (Chief) on July 15th 2019

 

CARCROSS – Carcross/Tagish First Nation is now ready to officially enter into the by-election process with all dates confirmed. The appointed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tanya Silverfox, will be assisting with the by-election process until the end of July 2019.

 

Today the writ has been issued and the call for nominations is now open. As per the C/TFN election code, any Citizens that wishes to run for Haa Shaa du Hen (Chief) has until May 31st to bring their name forward.

“On May 16th, 2019, the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Executive Council hereby calls a By-Election for One (1) Chief - Haa Shaa Du Hen as pursuant to the Election Code. The By-Election will be held on Monday, July 15th, 2019 from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. in Carcross, Tagish and Whitehorse areas."
