We are excited to share that C/TFN and Ghuch Tla Community School (GTCS) have been selected as a pilot school under the National School Food Program. This funding will allow for breakfast and lunch to continue to be provided daily at GTCS for the remainder of this school year and the following school year.
In past years, food hampers for families with children in Carcross, Tagish, and Whitehorse (through YFNED) were provided using Jordan’s Principle funding. Unfortunately, the National School Food Program cannot be used to support food hampers.
To make sure families continue to receive support, the Health and Wellness team has identified funding through Child and Family Services. This year, eligible families will receive a $300 Loblaws gift card for Easter. This includes families in Carcross and Tagish whose children attend GTCS or HYH, families participating in the CPNP program, C/TFN Citizens with children under 18 living in Whitehorse and those providing care to a C/TFN registered child in Whitehorse.
In December we delivered gift cards door to door due to the extreme cold. This month we are asking that gift cards be picked up at the following locations:
Whitehorse: March 25th from 8am-3pm Yukon Inn Lobby
Carcross: March 25th from 8:30pm-4:00pm C/TFN Governance Board Room
If you are unable to pick up your gift card, please call Susannah Beckett (867-393-1200) for Whitehorse and Robin Lord (867-332-2063) for Carcross/ Tagish.
If you did not receive a gift card in December and you believe you are eligible please contact Susannah.beckett@ctfn.ca or 867-393-1200 to get your name added to the list.
If you are a Carcross/Tagish First Nation Citizen and need to update or add your contact information to our database, fill out this form.
