Youth Spring Gathering

Looking for something fun for youth this March break? The Youth Spring Gathering is happening March 19–22 at Skookies Camp, with activities for ages 5–18. See the full schedule below.

Each day includes breakfast, lunch, outdoor activities, and a variety of workshops like printmaking, beading, drum bag making, and more.

Friday and Sunday are Youth & Elders Days. Elders are warmly invited to come out, enjoy good food, share stories, and join in the activities.

Transportation is available from Carcross and Tagish.

(Ages 5–11) Thursday 19th

• 9:30am–10:30am Breakfast & crafting in the gazebo
• 10:30am–12pm Check fish net with Lands crew
• 12pm–1pm Lunch
• 1pm–4:30pm Workshops & sliding, outdoor fun

(Ages 5–11) Friday 20th – Youth & Elders Day

• 9:30am–10:30am Breakfast & crafting in the gazebo
• 10:30am–12pm Check fish net with Lands & ice fishing
• 12pm–1pm Lunch
• 1pm–4:30pm Workshops & games (PRIZES!!)

(Ages 12–18) Saturday 21st

• 9:30am–10:30am Breakfast & workshops in gazebo
• 10:30am–12pm Check fish net with Lands & ice fishing
• 12pm–1pm Lunch
• 1pm–4:30pm Beaver skinning with Carcross/Tagish Renewable Resource Council
• 1pm–4:30pm Workshops in gazebo

(Ages 12–18) Sunday 22nd – Youth & Elders Day

• 9:30am–12pm Breakfast & workshops in gazebo with elders
• 12pm–1pm Lunch
• 1pm–2:30pm Workshops in gazebo with elders
• 2:30pm–4:30pm Elders tea making competition, outdoor games & PRIZES!!

Workshops

• Make your own prints for shirts/bags with Blake Lepine
• Sew beaded wire flowers with Shelbie Campbell
• Put together your own drum bag with Lynda Dickson
• Create your own keychains with Laurie Anne Atlin / Melissa Barrett

Youth & Elders Days Notice

Feb 20th & Feb 22nd are Youth and Elder Days, so Elders please come down and join in on the fun. Enjoy some good food, workshops, and share stories!

Transportation to Skookies

• Tagish youth pick up will be at 9am
  (Please contact ahead of time to arrange pick up)
• Carcross youth pick up (9:30am) & drop off (4:30pm) will be at the Montana store
• Elders’ transportation on elder days will be available throughout the day
